Photography

My camera is an extension of me. With it, I can show others my view of the world, creating stories that need no words. I’ve been capturing images for over a decade, along the way graduating from amateur enthusiast to published professional.
Self-taught, my natural abilities with a camera combines with a keen eye for details and an intuitive sense of timing. I come from a creative family, and while I don’t paint or sketch like I used to, mixed media art and photography are my specialities.

My style is largely photojournalistic, with dabblings in the abstract. Above all, I love photographing faces of all sorts, capturing the essence of a person or event in a particular moment of time. My travels have given me the opportunity to photograph all over the world, with some of the most magnificent faces, places and happenings I’ve ever encountered. From intimate portraitures to media events, I love my work as a photographer.

Personality-wise, I have a down-to-earth, humourous and quirky nature that puts others at ease and enbles me to catch my subject’s true spirit.

My professional business background comes into play when working onc orporate shoots or high profile media events and press conferences. I deliver the shots you need on time and under pressure, I always meet the client brief with professionalism and efficiency.

For special occasions like weddings and family reunions, my people-watching skills come in handy to beautifully photo-chroncile your event and the people participating in it.

I’ve luckily never had to advertise, as my clients have passed along my name along over the years. My reputation has grown simply from word of mouth, which is the best endorsement when you live in a small place like St. John’s.

Please feel free to browse this blog for my photo entries, and be sure to check out my website, www.jenniferbarnable.com, where my portfolio is housed. I can be reached via e-mail any time at jbarnable@gmail.com. This is linked directly to my Blackberry, so I’ll be sure to receive it. The current phone number posted on my website has changed; I’ve been meaning to update my website this spring – life (and work!) have been super busy — a good complaint!

Drop me an e-mail or a comment below if you’d like to reach me. Available for assignments of all sizes and subjects.
